Road Trip Gone Awry!

After slogging away during the months leading up to the International Baking Industry Exposition, we were excited to be enroute to Orlando, where we'd finally be able to debut the new machine.

Unfortunately, outside of Boise, Idaho, a gust of wind caused the trailer to start weaving. A split second later, the truck and trailer were grinding down the freeway at 60 miles an hour...on their side!

Skip ahead 29 hours and the Bread Bakery had been removed from the damaged trailer and placed in a Penske rental truck and was once again headed east. While enroute, newly fabricated parts were ordered and were waiting for us when we arrived in Orlando.

When the show opened on Sunday October 7, 2007, we were baking. We had survived the accidental 'destructive testing' of our Bread Bakery!

Here are some photos of the incident.
